Time: 4pm–5.30pm

Leagrave Primary School

I have worked in Luton since I was an NQT in 1999 and am now the Deputy Headteacher and SENDCo at Leagrave Primary School. I have led on a variety of school improvement areas over the years, but Special Educational Needs is certainly the most interesting and rewarding area that I have worked in. We have worked hard at Leagrave to ensure that children with dyslexia or those with dyslexic tendencies get the support they need so that they can enjoy and flourish at school.

About This Course

The session will be looking at the following areas:

  • Defining dyslexia and how to identify it in pupils.
  • Developing an understanding of what a dyslexia friendly environment involves.
  • Using practical strategies to teach pupils with dyslexia or those with dyslexic tendencies.
  • How to support parents.
